Ari Friedman

Ari Friedman is a queer traumedy writer, director and clown who grew up in an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish-Guatemalan home, only to turn around at 25 and get her hands and arms tattooed like a "sick little gay witch" (her preferred pronouns). She recently co-wrote the penultimate series finale episode of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. She has worked as a writers' assistant in both drama and comedy rooms including THE COOL KIDS on FOX and BLESS THIS MESS on ABC. Thematically, Ari's writing explores the importance and fallacy of one's identity. Yes, the rumors are true: Ari has gotten kicked out of multiple Orthodox Jewish schools, including one all-women's seminary in Jerusalem. But look, she is not as badass as this bio makes her out to be. She is actually super chill, all things considered. She is very, very cool, trust me.
